Remembered, Forgotten

Ducking under the convenience store counter, John finds a dirty, long forgotten coin. He
looks at the penny, thinking about the man on it. The man who freed the slaves, who fought a
war. It then occurs to John: If this man is only on the penny, what chance does he have of being
remembered?

Days Go On

Nobody entered the house to find 67 year old Lucy at the bottom of the stairs. Her kids
didn’t visit her for Thanksgiving, one having sent an e-card and the other having forgotten
altogether. No friends to discover her, no pet to go find a neighbour. Maybe it was best that
nobody found Lucy.
