Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

Are you having trouble deciding between indulging in a chocolate chip or brownie? Skip the hassle and have both! The following dessert has a brownie base and is scattered with cookie dough on top. They can be cut into 16 squares, given that they are quite heavy. Making these brownies couldn’t be easier so have fun and enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

Ingredients:

Cookie Dough

-1/2 cup butter at room temperature

-½ cup white sugar

-¼ cup brown sugar

-1 egg, at room temperature

-½ teaspoon vanilla

-1 cup and 2 tablespoons flour

-½ teaspoon baking soda

-½ teaspoon salt

Brownies

-1⁄2 cup butter, melted 

-1⁄2 cup unsweetened cocoa 

-1¼ cup sugar 

-2 eggs 

-1 teaspoon vanilla 

-¾ cup flour 

-1⁄4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease and line an 8×8” pan with parchment paper.

2. For the brownies, combine melted butter and cocoa and sugar stir until fully incorporated.

3. Add eggs one at a time followed by the vanilla and stir until well combined.

4. Carefully stir in flour and salt until the flour is fully combine.

5. Spread in pan and set aside.

6. For the cookie dough, cream butter and sugars in electric mixer for approximately 3 minutes.

7. Add egg and vanilla, then mix again.

8. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to mixer, mixing just until all ingredients are combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

9. Drop cookie dough clumps on top of brownie mix.

10. Bake for 30-33 minutes. Let cool completely.
