The climate rally on September 27th was an historic event that will go down in history as one of the largest climate change rallies ever. The event was full of life and energy as people from all walks of life and ages turned up to the rally. Thousands of people showed up, crowding streets from Queens Park to Toronto City Hall.

Getting there was a bit of a challenge, as the TTC was extremely crowded and roads were also shut down to accommodate the rally. A large number of Georgians also showed up to this event and participated in the rally.

While climate change was the main topic of the rally, many people also showed up for other reasons, mainly aboriginal rights. The signs at the rally ranged from serious to comedic, but all had the same message, “we want change.”

Protesters met at Queens Park and crowded around the stage until the rally began. The beginning of the rally was uncontrolled at the start as the protesters marched too quickly, outpacing the aboriginal rights section who were supposed to be at the front. Eventually, however, they merged with the group and the protest continued as normal. Many chants were also sang at the event. These ranged from “Hey-ho, climate change has got to go!” to “What do we want? Action! When do we want it? Yesterday!” The rally eventually made its way back to Queens Park where a show was performed.
